Is your pampered pooch breaking your budget? Believe me, you wouldn't be alone in spoiling your dog rotten. Everywhere you look these days you see dogs wearing fashionable clothing, fabulous rhinestone collars and carried in designer bags and strollers.

The good news is that it is completely possible to pamper your beloved pooch on a budget. We all need to watch our spending these days and fortunately with the availability of internet shopping, it's all at our fingertips.

You can find everything from toys, bedding, dog clothes, leads, collars and of course the all important gourmet dog food and natural dog treats for your pampered pooch. If I didn't hand out their daily dog treat to Rodeo and Maddie (my two totally spoiled Border Collies) each and everyday, they would think the world was coming to an end.

You can start saving with grooming products and skipping those spendy spa sessions. By purchasing your dog shampoo and other grooming products online, you will probably save enough to pay for them by skipping just one pampered pooch spa session and they will last a long, long time.

Giving your dog a bath yourself may seem like a bit of a chore but it can be a real bonding experience for you and your best buddy. Make the time really special by massaging your dog as you apply the shampoo and while your rinse as well. Be sure that you rinse the shampoo thoroughly so not to cause any skin irritations.

When finished, you have not only saved the money from a spa session but spent valuable, quality time with your dog. I want to add that for additional pampering you can brush your dog several times a week to help keep their coat clean, as well as additional maintenance such as filing their nails and cleaning their eyes etc.

Probably one of the most common items that all dog owners share in spoiling their dogs with is a new dog collar. Especially now, with all of the fabulous styles, colors and designs that are available. It doesn't matter what size your dog is or what their personality or your personality might be, there is a collar to match it.

I've seen everything from metal spikes, pretty in pink, rhinestones, biker, athlete and basically anything you can dream up. I've even some place that will custom make a collar to your specifications.

Once you get that amazing collar on, you are probably going to jump on the fashion wagon and start shopping for doggie clothes . Now some of these clothes go a little too far for me but some of them are just plain awesome.

You can pretty much dress your pup for any social occasion or everyday errands. Just turn on the tube and watch a few of the Hollywood types and you'll see they have entire wardrobes for their pampered pooches.

When you are picking out these clothing accessories and collars there is no need to go to a fancy boutique and spend a fortune. Simply hop online, go to online auction sites or try a local discount store. Believe it or not, most of the discount stores are now carrying full lines of dog designer clothes and accessories and at a much reduced price from the fancy pampered pet dog stores.

What my dogs eat is very important to me. Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the damage that a poor quality dog food can do to their dog. There are so many other affordable options available. There are now multiple sites online that are selling quality dog foods at discounted prices. You can also make homemade dog treats that are very inexpensive to make. It just isn't necessary to buy the expensive gourmet foods and treats you see in the stores. Fresh foods are also much more nutritious for your dog.

So keep in mind that it's not so much about your dog being a pampered pooch but about the quality and life expectancy of their whole life.

It's definitely important to consider what type of bedding you purchase for you dog. Consider what you feel like after sleeping on a crappy bed. It's no different for them especially if they are aging or have arthritis. My point is that if you truly have a spoiled dog and you don't buy them a quality bed, they will either end up sleeping on the couch or back in bed with you!

With a little shopping around online or at online auction sites, you can always find a good deal on a quality pet bed . If after a while, your pet bed starts to lose it's spring and go flat, just buy a couple new bags of stuffing at your local discount store and tear a seam open and re-stuff it and stitch it back shut. It's a super cheap fix.

Finally, what kind of pet owner would you be if you didn't supply a great stash of doggie toys and chews ? I've seen some pet toys with some pretty crazy prices on them but if you will shop around online or again at the discount stores, you can get great deals.

Always check the bargain bins. Often they will throw in toys they only have one or two left of and they are less than $1 each! Remember to always buy toys that are appropriate for your dogs size and chewing abilities.

Last but certainly not least, to spoil your pampered pooch properly, you need to make sure that you give them plenty of hugs, kisses and of course love!
